The journey of the labyrinth through history is a unique and fascinating one.
Labyrinths first appear on the cave walls of our Palaeolithic ancestors. They appear among the Celts, Hindus, Hopis, the Mayans, Greeks, and Egyptians. The twelfth century Chartres labyrinth, the most artful form of this symbolic pattern, vanished from sight for four hundred years, to be revived only in the last three decades, allowing pilgrims to experience once again its quietly mysterious power.
One of the exciting dimensions of our present work involves sharing
the fruit our nine part video course Journey of Transformation Pilgrimage Sessions. While each video session stands alone, taken together, this on-line course is a powerful catalyst for accelerating our dormant potentials. Our workshops are tailored to the needs of the client. All workshops focus on the history of the labyrinth and the physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of walking it. We have found that the labyrinth experience is unique to each individual.
We begin with the history of the labyrinth and and its meaning and use in different cultures.
We then focus on exploring the multiple benefits of the labyrinth experience as evidenced in clinical and anecdotal literature. Preparation for the walk might include 1) mindfulness, 2) centering, 3) intention, 4) sacred geometry, 5) intuition 6) prayer and 7) reflection/receptivity; hallmarks of the labyrinth experience the world over.
Sacred geometry alone is a significant aspect of this course as it kindles a soulful awareness of the interconnected world within and around us. It is sacred geometry that underlies the labyrinth and bestows its mysterious benefits.
This Journey of Transformation video course is the fruit of two decades work exploring the creative spirit within each of us. It is based on the power of the labyrinth to amplify inherent tendencies allowing us to shed what is unnecessary and to develop that which serves us and the world around us.
